The production of 1,200 tonnes of dolomitic limestone per month, for soil correction, is the main focus of the Super Gesso factory in the municipality of Sumbe, in Kwanza-Sul province, said the institution’s general director, Cármen Salvador.
The businesswoman, who was speaking at the end of a visit to the factory by the governor of Kwanza-Sul province, Mara Quiosa, said that the challenge was aimed at increasing soil fertility and ensuring an increase in national agricultural production.
He added that Super Gesso has the capacity to produce approximately 16,000 tonnes of crushed gypsum per month, as well as 120 tonnes of gypsum per month and 1,000 tonnes per month of raw gypsum.
On the occasion, Governor Mara Quiosa said that the production of limestone will contribute, to a certain extent, to increasing national production, as a result of soil correction.
She said that the Kwanza-Sul government is open to collaborating with the business sector, as it is necessary to continue developing the sector at provincial level, with a focus on creating new jobs.
The factory supplies its products to the Cuanza-Sul Cement Factory, Nova Cimangola in Luanda, Orthopaedic Centres and other hospital units, as well as the Agri Mumba and Cambondo farms and other sectors.
Established in 2007, it currently has 59 workers, spread across various areas, with glue plaster, calcined plaster, false ceiling tiles and plaster mouldings as the main production lines.
