The Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) in Lunda-Norte, seized this Tuesday, 2,468 stones of diamonds of several carats in the municipality of Lucapa, for illegal possession and trafficking.
The diamonds, according to the spokesman of SIC in Lunda-Norte, Graciano Lumanhe, were in possession of an Egyptian citizen of 35 years.
It was said that 6,750 US dollars, two million 172 thousand kwanzas, a diamond weighing scale, a diamond testing machine, a game of sieve , among other means used in the illicit activities of buying and selling diamonds were also seized.
Made it known that the diamonds will be filed with the criminal proceedings against the citizen and referred to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for subsequent steps.
