Transport Company Invests More than a Billion in the Purchase of New Buses for the Festive Season

A total of 20 new buses were recently purchased and put on the market by Cb&b-Transportes to handle the interprovincial service in the run-up to the festive season, since the period is one of high demand and constant movement of people and goods.

The investment made by CB&B-Transporte cost over a billion kwanzas, which will initially serve the provinces of Luanda, Lunda-Sul, Lunda-Norte and Malanje and vice versa, and will generate around 150 new jobs for Angolan citizens.

The transport company’s general manager, Egildo Bel, explained that the start-up of these buses is part of a plan that CB&B has been developing since its creation as a people and goods transport company.

The conditions were created with an investment of no more than 100,000 dollars at the start of the service, and now, after more than five years, the company has totalled two million dollars.

According to Egildo Bel, CB&B has a fleet of 100 buses, 20 of which are destined for the interprovincial service. With the launch of this service, the company is making a difference to transport operations in the country.

For the head of the fleet, the month of December has been very challenging for people, which is why CB&B-Transporte has been preparing logistics to meet the needs of the festive season.

The company in question has been operating in Luanda for years with its urban services, and the change in operations is part of a strategy that aims to extend to the whole country.

Prices

As for the fare, Egildo Bel said that there were recommended prices and ruled out price speculation at this time. The chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT), Énio Costa, on the occasion of the launch of the new 20 buses for the inter-provincial service, recognised that the initiative is necessary at a time when the festive season is approaching, and during this period people use land transport to get from one place to another.

Énio Costa described the new buses as being suitable for transporting people and goods, in terms of safety, which represents an added value for the country in terms of transport. He said that it was important for companies to contribute to mobilisation in Angola.

ANTT’s PCA emphasised that in Angola private initiatives need to bring quality services, with safety, and comply with the measures laid down by law in terms of land transport.
